Hot chocolate made with melted chocolate is sometimes called drinking chocolate, characterized by less sweetness and a thicker consistency.

Tomato juice was first served as a beverage in 1917 by Louis Perrin at the French Lick Springs Hotel in southern Indiana, when he ran out of orange juice and needed a quick substitute. His combination of squeezed tomatoes, sugar and his special sauce became an instant success as Chicago businessmen spread the word about the tomato juice cocktail.

Tomato juice contains the antioxidant lycopene, which may confer some health benefit, which has been associated with a reduced risk of lung and stomach cancer, as well as pancreatic, colorectal, esophageal, oral, breast, and cervical cancers. Lycopene also appears to protect the lungs and heart against oxidative damage, helping to ward off cardiovascular disease.

These drinks are very tasty and you can also get the benefit for your body. Have a great day…

Green tea contains a rich concentration of flavonoids and polyphenols, natural antioxidants that may protect cells from carcinogens (cancer-causing substances) and inhibit tumor growth by helping to neutralize free radicals in the body. The tea's antioxidants may also guard against heart disease by relaxing blood vessels, inhibiting the formation of blood clots that trigger heart attacks and strokes. Green tea also contains fluoride, which strengthens teeth; the flavonoids may build up bones as well, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and tooth decay.

Soy milk, also referred to as soymilk or soya milk, is a plant milk produced by soaking dried soybeans and grinding them in water. A traditional staple of Asian cuisine, soy milk is a stable emulsion of oil, water and protein. Soy milk can be produced at home using a soy milk machine.

Soy milk is a complete protein and has about the same amount of protein as cow's milk; it can replace animal protein and other sources of dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals. Soy milk contains little digestible calcium because calcium is bound to the bean's pulp, which is indigestible by humans. To counter this, manufacturers enrich their products with calcium carbonate. Unlike cow's milk, soy milk has little saturated fat and no cholesterol.

Delicious and Beneficial Tea

Tuesday, 5 May 2015 / No Comments
Hello everyone, happy Monday…

I hope we can start this weekend with positive energy and make our day. Well, today in the class I learned about Chinese Civilizations and I had the discussion about one of the most popular beverage in the world from China, do you know what I mean? Yes, that’s about ‘Tea’.

Maybe like me, you are also familiar with this kind of beverage or maybe you have your own schedule to drink this one, maybe in the morning or at the evening. That is proper because tea is delicious and gives us many benefits. What kind of the tea do you like the most? Green tea? Black tea? Or the other.

There’s a lot of types of the tea and today we will talk about that. Actually the varieties of the tea has the difference in the process to transform from the dried leaves into brewing tea. The process include plucking, withering, disruption, oxidation/fermentation, fixation, sweltering, rolling, drying, and aging.

If you can know each character of the tea, maybe you can enjoy it more. Let's check it out…

1. Black tea
Benefits Black Tea

In Chinese languages and the languages of neighboring countries black tea is called as “red tea”, a description of the color of the liquid; the Western term "black tea" refers to the color of the oxidized leaves. In Chinese, "black tea" is a commonly used classification for post-fermented teas, such as Pu-erh tea; outside of China and its neighboring countries, "red tea" more commonly refers to rooibos, a South African herbal tea. One of the most famous tea in China is Qimen Hongcha from Anhui Province.

Black tea is the more oxidized than oolong, green, and white teas. Black tea is oxidized for 100%. All four types are made from leaves of the shrub (or small tree) Camellia sinensis. Black tea is generally stronger in flavor than the less oxidized teas. Two principal varieties of the species are used – the small-leaved Chinese variety plant (C. sinensis subsp. sinensis), used for most other types of teas, and the large-leaved Assamese plant (C. sinensis subsp. assamica), which was traditionally mainly used for black tea, although in recent years some green and white have been produced.

Like the other tea, black tea also gives us many health benefits for us. Black tea can help manage or even prevent diabetes, black tea protects your heart health, black tea is a tremendous source of potent antioxidants, black tea may help with weight loss, and the antioxidants in black tea can also help reverse the visible effects of aging.

2. Oolong Tea
Benefits Oolong Tea

Oolong is a traditional Chinese tea (Camellia sinensis) produced through a unique process including withering the plant under the strong sun and oxidation before curling and twisting. Most oolong teas, especially those of fine quality, involve unique tea plant cultivars that are exclusively used for particular varieties. The degree of oxidation can range from 8 to 85%, depending on the variety and production style. One of famous oolong tea is Wu Yi Shan Cha from Fujian province China.
Oolong in general contains caffeine. Though the caffeine content in tea will vary based on terroir, when the leaf is plucked, and the production processes. Even if oolong tea is new for us who lived outside China, many research concern to know the benefits of this kind of tea. Here is what research has told us so far about oolong tea health benefits: Oolong tea can lower the risk of high blood pressure, oolong tea can improve skin irritations, oolong tea may help with weight management, and Oolong tea may help with weight management.

3. Green Tea

Green tea is made from the leaves from Camellia sinensis that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea originated in China, but it has become associated with many cultures throughout Asia. Green tea has clear water and unique fragrance. One of famous green tea is Longjing cha from Zhejiang province in China.
Green tea has caught our attention, due to its powerful antioxidants and disease fighting capabilities, among many other benefits. Current scientific research said that green tea can fight and protect against chronic inflammation, green tea is brimming with potent antioxidants, Green tea may provide protection against prostate cancer, the potent polyphenols (antioxidants) found in green tea can reduce the risk of lung cancer, and green tea still has more benefits for physical and mental health.

4. White Tea
Benefits White Tea

White tea is a lightly oxidized tea grown and harvested primarily in China, mostly in the Fujian province. More recently it is grown in Eastern Nepal, Taiwan, Northern Thailand, Galle (Southern Sri Lanka) and India. White tea comes from the buds and leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. The leaves and buds are allowed to wither and dry in natural sun.
The name "white tea" derives from the fine silvery-white hairs on the unopened buds of the tea plant, which gives the plant a whitish appearance. The beverage itself is not white or colorless but pale yellow, light to the taste, and is free shaped.
Like black and green tea, white tea is also derived from Camellia sinensis. Thus, white tea shares many of the same chemical properties and health effects of tea. However, white tea contains the most antioxidants. The particular amount and ratio of the polyphenol compounds found in tea varies widely from one type of white tea to another, frequently overlapping with chemical compositions found in green tea.
Don't underestimate the subtle taste of white tea behind its delicate flavor and aroma lie many healing properties, potent antioxidants, protection against disease, support for a healthy immune system, a radiant complexion, and a host of other white tea benefits.

Black tea, oolong tea, green tea, and white tea are the option of the tea that we can choose. Each of tea has their own character, taste, fragrance, and also benefit. Tea is proven by science that can help us to uphold our healthy, but tea also has side effects of risk effect if you don’t pay attention in the way you drink it or how much you drink it. Do you want to know what is the side effects? I will tell you tomorrow in our next article. See you next time, and enjoy your delicious and beneficial tea…
