History
Stroopwafel came from the city of Gouda in the Netherlands, and was discovered in the late 18th century. It was told that the Stroopwafel was found or invented by a baker named Gerard Kamphuisen between the year 1810 and 1840. In the 19th centuries, historian recorded that there are about 100 stroopwafel bakers in Gouda city. And in the 20th century Factories start producing and selling Stroopwafel massively outside Gouda city.
Stroopwafel is a two thin waffle with caramel syrup placed in between. So basically, they are a caramel syrup filled waffle. The waffle batter consist of flour, egg, brow sugar, milk, yeast, and butter. And the syrup consist of syrup, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon.
You'll find these in Netherlands Souvenir shop, Snack shop, and Market. You eat it along with a cup of Hot tea so that the syrup melts when you bite them.
